METROCON TO HOST NEW TOURNAMENT: GGX - GEAR GRAPPLING XTREME

“A mysterious fight organizer grown tired of the rules, limits, & bounds that have plagued combat sports has created an underground fight tournament known as GGX Gear Grappling Xtreme, where there are absolutely NO RULES. They will be original characters that are influence by past/present pro wrestlers & small themes from western animation, anime, video games, & action movies.

I'm looking forwards to characters similar to Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper. And maybe Rick Flair and old-style Undertaker >.> I don't watch all that new-fangled wrestling stuff though. I like watching my granny's old VHS tapes of back in the day. More family friendly back then too.

That was my thoughts on it. I loved WWF back when they had interesting charcters with borderline super powers. Now it's just a soap opera for guys.

And old ladies. My grandma still watches it for some unknown reason. Unknown as in I'm afraid to ask. I already know one of my faveorites will be whoever has the most BLAZING PASSION!!!!!
Also will the wrestlers have their own theme songs for when they walk in?

I assume they will have music. I don't think we will be writing our own songs for them. We don't know how to do that......yet.

Yes. There will be theme songs. Just to let everyone know, think of this as pro wrestling WITHOUT a wrestling ring. The whole gimmick of this is old UFC when they had NO rules & NO weight classes, old ECW when it was hardcore & not TV PG like the current crap that was out there, & northern style wrestling with the outlandish-type characters that are only memories of the late 80's/early 90's. Funny in the early 90's all the wacky characters that the WWE were pushing was because they wanted to compete with Disney lolz! Alot of this, while obviously being fun & entertaining for the Metroconnies, will kinda be like my critique on how pro wrestling & mma should be.

Would actors in the other shows be able to participate?

I do have a few actors from Chess Match also participating. I may look into having more that don't have major parts or I would much prefer stagehands if able to help with chair arrangements. I'm not here to hinder the quality of the Chess Match. These are things that I have to discuss with the high brass.

Hey guys Quick update for you all. Weve started doing an intro workshop to gear people up, excuse the pun, for GGX next year. At skill set sundays anyone who wants to come learn the basic arts of pro wrestling/judo techniques. to add to their Stage figting tool box is more than welcome. Wear tennis shoes, if you can elbow and knee pads, and since its at lowrey park, wear something you can get dirty in. Thanks and we hope to see you there.
