This is the thread to go to if you are totally stumped with how to style a wig. This could range from buying the right wig to start with to dying methods and everything in-between!
You can refer to this thread for good places to purchase and learn more about wigs. You can also put feedback for those companies there.
Short list of sites to buy wigs: http://www.amphigory.com http://www.cosworx.com http://www.pettingzoowigs.com (custom wigs and tutorials) http://www.wowwigs.com http://www.acewigs.com
And there is always eBay. Be careful with eBay, though, and read all feedback before making your purchase.
If you make a tutorial, this is the place to post a link to it!
I really wish I had taken photos of my Fight Card wig as I put it together, but I was so focused on finishing the darn thing, I never thought about it. I do remember how I did it, so just ask and I will tell you. ^_^ When I make my Nurse Joy wig, I will definitely remember to photograph my progress.
I know that there are many EXCELLENT wig stylists on AnimeMetro (and some halfway decent ones, like me), so I know that the advice given here will be reliable. ^__^
I made this topic a sticky to make it faster to find in a pinch! ^__^

I have been searching for a good light blonde pigtail wig that is a little curl, I'm horrible at making wigs and most regular wigs can't be put into pigtails without the wig netting showing. =/ The closest I was was with a wig at Amphigory but its still not the exact look I'm going for. Any suggestions/help?

That tutorial is complicated if you don't have the proper tools. It's also listed under "Advanced."
HOWEVER, I plan to use the Amphagory "Innocent?" wig for Nurse Joy. I just plan on straightening it and moving the pigtails down. ^__^ http://www.pettingzoowigs.com/wigtutorial_straightening.html <--tutorial for straightening (or you can take it to a wig shop and see if they can steam the curls out!)

you can get a synthetic wig and then take a broom stick and wrap the hair around it. After you do that get it wet with gel at the end.(moose kinda frays) and then blow dry it while keeping it around the broom stick. You can tape the end on or something to keep it there. It works for me :)
