So, after creating a poodle skirt for a family friend's child, I decided that a Metro Sock Hop would be really fun. So is anyone interested in attending this event and/or helping me set it up?

I've often suggested a different musical dance event other than the rave, like an AMV Dance Party. I'd suggest using music from both the 50's and 60's for it. I'd definately show up and spin madly around the dance floor at this. As I have some pretty good knowlege of the music of the time (since I'm soooooo old), I'd love to help out with this. Keep me up on the progress.

Isa, you said Yuko and I saw her in a black with white accent poodle skirt and a mokona design (instead of the poodle)! >.> Sorry about the design crazt that just happened.

Just something interesting I wanted to add (just because fun trivia is always interesting)....in the 50s, no one had poodles on their skirts. It was the circle skirt or pencil skirt that was the fashion. At least, my grandmother (who was in high school in the early 50s) never saw a poodle on a skirt. XD
Not that I would avoid doing such, LOL, I would totally put a Kyo on a skirt for a Tohru outfit!! :]

Cool idea guys! Though, you'll have to work on it a bit more to see what you can do to make it different. We wouldn't want to just copy a normal sock hop (that's been done at other conventions with varying degrees of success), but make special enough to be held at METROCON and have more than just a handful of fans want to come to it.
After that, if it's good enough, we'll consider it.

Which host club? The Ouran Host club? If so, you should probably ask them (The Ouran Host club) first before comitting them. Also, remember, somthing like this (and other event suggestions) need to be approved first. So, don't start planning and getting materials and advertising unless it's for sure going to happen. We're a tad early to be approving any major events yet. So, they all go into the pile and we discuss them at our meetings.
I'm definetly not trying to discourage anything, just making sure it all goes in the proper order. XD

Yes, and it doesn't have to be the con artist that host it, but I think I'm going to skip the hosts and go for day glow.

I would recommend avoiding Ouran... ^^;;;; Think outside of the proverbial box. "Hosted by the Ouran High School Host Club!" panels are becoming rather tired...
