C++/C# - How to get it?

I found out awhile ago that the most beneficial thing to have for my web design, flash, and animation career is having C++ or C# under my belt. Lovely thing to find out when you're leaving high school, eh? So i'm wondering, does anyone know of any great books or courses within the Tampa area to take? It'd be most helpful considering I know neither is cheap.

Oh, and also I heard something about take C# then C++ because it's easier that way. Is this true, or pure garbage? Should I even bother with both since C# is becoming more commonly used?

And what about the test? Any particular areas of focus? Hints, tips, tricks, etc.

AND (last one I swear!), how long should the whole shebang take to get?

my dear for your first question, any library has great books on HTML/web design basics. your best bet is to start with a dummy/idiots guide to web design. These books are great for beginners and I constantly check these out when I want to start learning something new. but as for online there are great tutorials online dealing with learning web design from CSS to XML. for instance one i've used

this site is Great for anyone wanting do learn web design! it has great tutorials on ASP and frggin AJAX!

as for the second one.... HAH well web design has different trees that you can go into I'm assuming you are wanting to go into the layout/design of the site?? all the pretty cells and cool animations??

well usually degrees in this field (at least for A.s./AA's ) require a understanding of programing languages. in honesty you need to have some understanding on how the scripting languages work, and getting to at least know/understand C/C++ will benefit you in your general programing abilities. the only way you'll have to deal with something like these basic programing languages is with server/applet based jobs that require direct access to databases and custom internal designs. but no need for me to go into a techno-rabble rant... I would suggest with your apprehension to the whole programing thing to take C++ it is easier than C and easily transitions into Java(ish) languages. (object based is the way to go for the internet........makes debugging easy and code secure)

OOOkay.... soo for the third......ummmm I assumeing you want to know a field to go with?? well I would say what your looking to is probably into the field of Flash animation!!! learn as much as possible about the MX suite......action script will be your bane....and SAVOIR!!!.........(thus the need to understand rudimentary programing from C or C++).....learn how to wrangle the power of PHP.

as for the last to get the whole webdesign cert/A.S-A.A thing will take usually 2 years (including summer classes) at a community college (which will beee waaaaay cheaper for gen ed stuff....and more hands on) and a 4 year university..... continuing on after the 2 yr degree can be complete with a B.A/s for another two years at a public/private university!.........soo yeah........

my apologies for the length of the post....on top of that the breakdown in structure I have been writing this reply throughout the morning at work..... the breakdown is due to a losing battle with a bane of a programing language called PERL!.....grrrrr.............

ummmm talk to me more at the cast party if you need more clarification .....trust me there is more to this
