Yeah, a lot of the people I recognized have vanished. People just grow up I guess. I'm pretty old myself.

If you're doing a 'most missed' list, the one person I'm amazed noone has nominated yet is Roy (GWAdmin).
I've heard members and even Mods and such complain that it seems like he doesn't pay much attention to the site since MetroCon took off. I have a friend who says he visits the site from time to time but there's nothing really there aside from the boards.
For those who have commented about this to me, I shall now parody an old quote on this site:

Anyway, I couldn't agree with you more about the content of this site. But yeah I can almost say that Animemetro/GW (whatever you want to call it) was almost up there with some of those other forums for quality in content, but now I really don't know.
I was thinking it was only the grouchy misbehaving people that thought this (metrocon taking over) but glad to see an old admin who would agree.
Though I can vision a mod coming through and saying that it was the members that brought the site down from what it was not metrocon or Roy (though some members did play some hand in it).

It seems like some of the issues w/ the site right now are simply lack of traffic/effort/posts, it's just a LOT quieter than when I first came here... so...
I shall post and post and make sure that people's love AM like I did, :) (oh, and still do, :P)

In all honesty I really don't miss him. He's become the type of man that is too absorbed into his girlfriend as she is to him. They pretty much live in their own little world and hardly care about anything else although hell has raised all over them; people won't leave them alone and persist on breaking them apart and making both their lives bitter and miserable. Seems as though loving someone with your absolute everything is a sin greater than all the deadly sins put together.
Ohh, and Kate (Kat) nice to know some of your good old friends slip out of your mind just like that.

I'm such a dork. The first topics I look at when I come back for a quick visit are the "Most missed" topics to see if I'm on there. And Sara said my name!
I <3 you, Sara. You made my Monday morning.
Anywho. I won't get into my list, because there are way too many oldies to name, and I might get in trouble if I leave someone out. Those of you who care probably already know who all I miss. The oldies in general.
I miss those times sometimes, when my biggest problem was whether the chat was going to lag a little or not. Now I've got adult things to do. Pfffft.

I had this huge heartfelt thing typed up just a moment ago... but for some reason... the page refreshed without my permission and I lost it.... so I'll start over....
What I miss... is the compitance. There is such incompitance in these forums now a days, and its not only on AM. What I miss... are the people that werent so anime/RPG/cosplay declined, and not so cyber inclined. What I miss is the litteracy. What I miss are the people that could tell a good RPG from a bad RPG.
A full in-depth RPG with strict but fair rules and a tidy atmosphere.... against a simple "big brother RPG" where people get to run around like imbiciles and play god every which way and that. Or a discussion thread where one asks ones opinion on Gay marriage/abortion the title being correctly spelt, all opinions are just that as well as the content within are more than likely spelt correctly.... against a discussion thread where they ask a question that shouldn't be asked publicly, especially on public forums, unless they wish to insinuate that their only goal/desire from creating the thread is to begin a horrible conflict (such as "do you believe in god") AND misspell the title and probably the content inside... back then, the full in-depth RP thread or the discussion about Gay marriage/Abortion would surely have 100+ pages, all filled with intellectual dialect and occasional spamming/flaming which would be easily taken care of by Nicci or other mods. But I see now, a well designed RPG thread against a poorly collaborated RP thread would stand a better chance if it hadnt been created at all. As well as an illiterate discussion thread about a very conflicting subject that should be none elses business but their own against an opinionated discussion thread, discussing matters that pertain to things that actually conflict with human lives either positively or negatively, that literate thread would stand no chance to the poorly made thread. Those are only examples.
Yet the people I miss arent just because they're gone. No, in fact many of those people are still here! It is the fact that those people, my friends whom I used to Roll Play with -you know who you are(I hope...)- have changed. They say time changes a person, but not only does time effect the person, but the persons around him/her. Their friends. Its not that the people I miss are gone from AM, never to be seen again... its because the people that I associated myself with as aquaintences.... arent.... in fact.... the people I associated myself with as aquaintences any longer. The moment I left AM I was sure nothing would be the same... I was correct. People here changed, the atmosphere here has been degraded and I dont mean to sound rude but I do miss the intelectual kind that I used to Roll Play with here.
The people I miss... are many. I will attempt to name the ones I can... Saiya-jin Crys... Casside_Ohkashuo... Duo_God_of_Death... Trowa-Barton... Seth-S... Ryoko... Zach_Rendar... Hilde154... Shiroh Amada... and so many others. Even some people thats posted here I miss, though it seems they may have forgotten me.
I've changed but for the better. My skills as a Roll Player have never died... I will always be apart of AM. I will never change as drastically as many of these people had. Duo, Trowa, Seth... those three in particular really upset me. A grand RP we were all in... and... they seemed to have abandoned it... and now it is nowhere to be seen. I dont enjoy my talent to be cut short, or be used then dissapear due to another's carelessness. I'm not flaming them. I still love them all like brothers. But I'm still dissapointed... it hurts to see how people have changed. My vocabulary did... my talents as a roll player did... but not my person. I'll always be the same 'Naamii. But thats just my 200 cents...

I agree with Naamii on the RPG stuff. I miss those days when in-depth RPG's existed, though not exactly the best grammar wise they were fun which is what they should be anyways. Everything was much original back then, especially most of Duo_God_of_Death's work. I love that Guam guy. I distinctly remember one other figure that RP'd back then, and if I may say so he had the absolute worst grammar ever -- Dark Zidane, wherever you are, you always made my day with your posts man. RPG's like those from back then are hard to come by these days, and even though some do exist the way the place runs now they just die half way into it. I'm wishing that this will change someday. Kayla, always thinking up something cool!
I miss my 05' chat buddros. Clare, Ren, Fonz, Mike, Chels, Andi, Cap'n Scorps! If you're hiding under some new name I'll find you! Even though I still see some of yall around, I miss you? I miss talking about marshmallow pandas and pixie pirates or whatever, sending lewd messages to each other in Drow, or how Ireland's economy is effed. It's the little things that count.
My first pals that I had when I got here, yall welcomed me here and introduced me to this beautiful place. Nick, Cassy, Cassy, Vashley, Aki-chan, Steph - can't forget about yall.
I think that everyone's presence has had an impact on at least one other's life, maybe not majorly but just enough that you'll always have this urge to one day return to Anime Metro and see how time's effects have had its toll on this place. I know it has with me. Though things can't be the way they used to be its all in good measure. This place had its Golden Age and it used to feel so alive. Ayup, I guess one day I'll post in that goodbye topic, but I know I'll eventually wind back up here.
GWAdmin, where are you?!
