OOC: Yeah...about that warrior position. Sorry Curt, I think I forgot to mention it...but Shi declined. >>; He had some stuff going on at that point in time. <<; Again, sorry. ^^'

Also. I'm going to start implementing the plotline if it's okie with you, 'Gome. I think it's time to get the RPG moving. Well...aside from us plodding through the forest.

IC:

Diedre moved steadily slower, letting the other six- no, five (she kept forgetting that Arya was no longer with them)- get ahead of her. Though she kept them in sight and- therefore- within shouting distance, the thief was well out of hearing range for all save for perhaps Jarom and she was confident that she could elude his hearing. The mage's spells had ensured that.

She clenched her fists tightly and closed her eyes for a moment in what seemed to be resignation before pulling a good-sized red marble from her pouch. It glinted in the sunlight...had any of the others happened to see it, they would simply see another of the eccentric woman's 'treasures.'

"Yamaro." The word was whispered into the marble, which cleared and an oddly disproportionate face came into view. Diedre's brown eyes narrowed as she stared at the orb in her hand. "What do you want?"

"To check your progress." The voice was low, a hiss more than a whisper.

"We're in the Forest of Never." The thief's voice was cold. "We'll be at the palace soon."

"How soon?"

"I'm not sure. You're lucky Arya's not here. She would probably be able to detect the magic being used."

"The spelled items you were given are in your pouch?"

"I haven't touched them since you gave them to me." In truth, Diedre didn't want the foul items to touch her skin at all.

"Then the vampire will not hear you- or see you- unless you wish him to, and nobody else will sense a thing...again, unless you wish them to."

The thief looked away for a moment before glaring at the orb again. "I don't have to touch them?"

"No."

"Good. Then I don't have to get your essence on my flesh."

"Remember who you serve, wench."

Looking up at the group of talking individuals ahead of her, Diedre closed her eyes momentarily before opening them again and stating in a slightly anguished voice. "I never forget."

"You will guide them to the palace once you have reached the capital."

"We'll see." The slender woman stiffened as she felt a jolt of pain go through the base of her skull.

"Remember what I can do to you, Thief." The hiss was more sinister now, angry. "What serving me means." After a time, the pain disappeared...leaving Diedre gasping for breath and trying desperately not to be heard. "I will contact you once more soon."

"Yippee Skippy." Diedre muttered, her eyes staring holes into her shoes as the marble in her hand heated up. When it cooled, it had returned to its rich red coloring, and the thief sighed and simply slipped it back away before looking up at the party ahead of her once more. Lowering her head, she trudged after them, making no effort to catch back up.

OOC: If you had something different in mind, let me know on AIM. I suppose I could get on Yahoo in the next few days, but I always forget to load trillian. I'm just going with the plan that I had when I came into the RPG. Unless you tell me differently, I'll assume that it works. >>; <<;

OOC: Well, I'd rather not have the Tenny character die out so yea take over it Sammy.

~~Ambrosine Lanee and Isa Mizashuki~~

"Come on, Diedre!" She called behind her before they all exited the forest. "We can have a quick break to have a drink, of water," Amber turned her accusing gaze to Orion and Isa. "And a bite to eat." Her own stomach was growling. Ambrosine plopped herself down on the green grass and pulled her pack onto her lap taking out water. She watched Tenshi practicing with Jarom with a smirk on her face. "We'll make it to the castle before dusk." She told them, pulling out a sandwich the bartender had made her. His finest pork between the best bread, she scarfed it quickly, took one more drink of her water, and then stood. She placed the water back in the pack, they had been sitting for about thirty minutes. "Well, I think it's time we go. You can give the squirt oral lessons on the way up to the castle."

~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~

The group was walking through the middle of the town that led right up to the castle. Ambrosine had flipped up her hood, for there were guards everywhere. Once they had made it through the fairly large town a guard that had seen them, ran into the castle and to the king. "They're here, sire!" He told the king as he bowed.

"Good, let them in. And prepare the soldiers, gather them up." The king said, the knight began to run out of the room. "Oh, and Jarvis, give word to the messanger that these seven are now wanted all around the kingdom for aiding and abetting a dangerous fugitive and high treason against the king. Wanted... dead or alive. And a great reward." The knights bowed once again and ran from the throne room, calling the rest of the knights to the castle courtyard, to ambush the eight of them.

The courtyard gates swung open for the eight, inviting them in. "Ok gang, now stay close together." Amber told them, looking to her right at Tenshi.

"I don't like this..." Isa mumbled to himself. He scaled the courtyard wall but before he could jump completely over, Ambrosine called his name.

"Isa! What are you doing! I told everyone to stay together!" She yelled up at him. He smirked at her from his sitting place on the wall.

"That's funny, for a moment I thought you fancied yourself as my boss or something." With that, he gave her a smart ass salute and jumped over the wall. Amber growled and clentched her fists, but there was nothing she could do about Isa. She walked into the courtyard and it looked like there had been a slaughter. Bloody knights lay everywhere and there was Isa, slitting the throat of the last knight. He shook the blood of his sword and walked over to Amber.

"It was a trap, Amber! These knights were standing beside the gate, weapons drawn, poised and ready to strike!"

More knights came rushing out of the castle, weapons drawn.

"What are you playing at?" asked Isa.

"Shut your mouth, lowlife, or I shall skewer your tongue. The king finds you all guilty of treason! You have among you a wolf demon and a vampire. If you hand the two over, you will all be spared."

The knight moved forward as if to grab Amber, and Isa stepped in front of her.

"What's your game, samurai? You do know if you don't cooperate, I'll kill you?"

"Your threats are as empty as your head. You couldn't kill me if you tried." Isa made a small motion with his head, and as one, the group drew their weapons.

"You are heartily outnumbered. This is foolish of you."

"You see your friends back there?" Isa pointed with his thumb. "They laughed at me when I was the only person 'foolish' enough to pass through the gates. You don't see any of them laughing now, do you?"

The knights behind the captain let out a gasp of terror as they beheld the grisly spectacle.

"Perhaps you know of me. I am Isa Mizashuki, heir to the title of The Devil's Swordsman. Not three months ago, I single-handedly defeated every man of your brigade in combat, and slew a dragonfox right outside these very gates. I am not the foolish one.... For it is the fool who dies first, and I believe this is you."

With that, Isa rushed forward and cut the captain's head off. However, the knights behind the captain were quick to their senses, and each of their blades found its mark. Isa let out a cry as each sword tore open his flesh. The pain was more than excruciating. Isa fell to the ground, wounds covering his arms, legs, abdomen, and face. Blood ran into his eyes, and the last thing he remembered seeing was Amber rushing forward to fight off his attackers...

When Isa woke up, he was laying on a bed in a room he knew quite well. This was the room the bartender so often let him sleep in when he was young. As Isa regained his senses, he realized the bartender was stitching up his wounds. Next to the bartender was an empty bottle of sake.

"Don't move Isa. Your wounds are all very serious, and I'm only just finishing sewing up the last one. The others didn't fair as bad as you did though. Amber was nicked on one side of her face, right above her eye. She's quite lucky she still has the eye. Tenshi only had a couple of scrapes. Orion's arm was hewn open, and Jarom disappeared. Ninako had several arrows piercing his body, but luckily, they all missed his vital organs. Diedre didn't return with you."

Isa sat bolt upright. "WHAT?!?!" He collapsed again, the pain reminding him that he wasn't immortal... yet. "Is she... alright?"

"She's alive..."

"Giske, tell me what you know!"

"It's not my place... Perhaps you should ask Amber when your wounds have healed..."

"Bring her in here!"

"I can't do that. Her wounds were also pretty bad. She's suffering from a poisoned wound..."

Isa looked at Giske blankly, then suddenly remembered: "Only thieves use poison! Did Diedre turn against us?"

Giske looked away, then turned and left the room. Isa got out of the bed, ignoring the pain, and looked at himself in the mirror. He would have many scars, and all for nothing. He cursed himself for thinking he could have beaten all of those knights alone. For that, he would need two-no, three- swords. He needed more training. They all did. With a grimace, Isa walked out of his room, and into Amber's. Amber was undressed, but wrapped in bandages. She looked over at him with a weak smile. Isa, who had turned pale, only managed a few words.

"We... Need... To... Separate..." Isa collapsed on the bed beside her, unable to stand.

"Separate?" Her eyes widened at the word. The group, separate? She couldn't imagine, but she agreed. "I don't know Isa..."

"We all need more training Amber. The knights are well oiled machine. With Diedre on their side, they'll have information on all of us. They'll all carry silver swords and wear thick, heavy armor. Their blades will be poisoned, and they'll all carry small crossbows to limit our effectiveness in close range combat. They'll also have metal plates protecting their vital points. The truth is, we never had a chance, Amber. The king saw to that. And so did Diedre."

"I guess you're right Isa. Give me some time to think," her voice was getting weaker. She needed to stop talking, wasting this energy, because the poison was getting to her. "I'll come up with a plan." She closed her eyes, losing consciousness.

~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~**~~

A few weeks later, the group had recouperated, and their wounds had mostly healed. Amber sat alone at the table by the fireplace. A mug of ale was in front of her, three other drinks sat with it. Isa, Ninako, and Orion all sat with grim expressions on their faces. Jarom stood by the fireplace, with a similar expression. Amber hoped to have this meeting over with before Tenshi came bounding in. She had told the bartender to tell her where they had gone the following morning. Isa was the first to speak.

"I'm going to the top of Mount Nagato, to finish training with my master."

Amber spoke immediately afterward.

"I'm going to the Wolf Demon village at the base of that mountain. We can travel together Isa..."

Isa had taken an ice cold attitude towards Amber lately to prevent the farewell from hurting.

"No, Ambrosine. We can't travel together. The last human the Wolf Demons accepted was your father, and they killed him in the end, didn't they?"

Amber sat silently, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Imagine what would happen if I went in there. We have to take separate paths, but I suppose we may travel together until the fork."

Amber looked at the group and sighed, wiping her eyes. "So, you all know the plan. We meet before dawn at our usual spot. Our training will last five years, and after those years, we will meet up again. Ready to bring down Diedre and then the king. She will pay for betraying us, pay with her life!" As soon as she finished, the door of the tavern banged open and in came Tenshi, running forward to their table.

"Hey guys!! What'cha doing? Getting ready for a big mission? Can I come?! PLEASE!! You know you need me!" She jumped up and down, apparently to make her attention known.

"No Squirt! Go home, you're not coming this time." Amber said in a cold voice that made Tenshi glare.

"I think it's time we go." Isa said, they all nodded and headed for the door, patting Tenshi's head or ruffling her hair as they passed. Ambrosine quickly headed up to her room before Tenshi could follow. The last thing she heard before she closed the door was Tenshi's yell in rage..

OOC: Sorry for the really long post. Yikes!

~Jarom Cy

I heaved a slight breath, freezing the flames in the fireplace for but an instant, then turned around. I picked up my sword from the table nearby and looked at Orion, then at Tenny, and lastly at the path to Amber's room.

"I'm sorry, Tenny," I said silently. "You won't be getting what you were promised." I walked by her slowly but at the passing moment I scooped her up with my free hand and plopped her on my shoulder. "You'll only be getting lessons from me. But five years at the pace I'm putting you will do well enough. Especially if the soldiers fight like they did then." I had sustained only a crossbow bolt in the shoulder as an injury, but it was a silver bolt and did quite a number considering. The damage it did perplexed me, I had developed a minor resistance to silver over the past years. I was left to the conclusion that the Thief knew and had them marinate the bolt in Blessed Water.

"Tenny, you're going to have to help me," I said as we left the inn. "I need to develope an immunity to silver and to the Blessed Water they give out a shrines. To do this I have to expose myself to small bits of it every day. But I'm going faster, every half day. We'll add more as I start to develope, but five years should do it. For the most part..." I smiled lightly then turned down the road to her house. I had no address.

-Tenshi-

"Right!" She looks at the pack and takes it off her shoulder. "I'm going to open it, maybe there is some thing in here that can help us win and if I can fight and use magic we might actually win.” Opening the bag a mini Arya appears in front of them with the message she left behind. “Tenshi you posses the Stone of Light. You can use the Staff of Light in my bag. Take care of the little dragonfox Isa managed to get me and read all the books you can in my bag. They will help you with you're new found magic. Don't mind Amber and Isa's yelling. Remember, Ninako is just doing his best. Jarom may say he doesn’t care but he really does. Orion is all talk and no bite. Diedre has changed some how but I don’t think it is good. Just believe in you’re self and you can do any thing. Good-bye my friends.” Tenshi looks at Jarom and touches her forehead. “Looks like I can learn magic and I better learn fast.” She pulls out a book and begins to read as Joram walks.

-Orion-

Orion watched Tenshi walk with Jarom into the distance. His arm still hurt and he winced as he waved goodbye to the two. He remembered the fight with the guards a few weeks ago, and remembered how helpless he seemed in the face of a suprise. He needed help badly. He needed good training that would consume his every waking moment, training that would involve every fiber of his body. He remembered his old master telling him about the mysterious land of mystical warriors known as the T'elathi who were said to learn their fighting prowess from the gods themselves. Orion marched off towards the mountains, vowing to find the civilization and learn all he could from them. Only then could he call himself a warrior.

Isa slung his pack over his shoulders with a grimace. He felt one of his wounds open itself again, but he wasn't going to wait another day to leave. It was hard enough seeing his newly reunited friends part ways again, but it was much harder parting with Amber. He didn't know how to say goodbye, nor did he want to. Isa walked out of the tavern and saw Amber struggling with her pack. Isa picked it up and slung it over his other shoulder, and started walking.

"Isa, what are you -"

"We're traveling to the mountain together. After that, we'll part ways. You'll need to train before you go into the village. They won't welcome you with open arms. But we have to leave right now..."

Amber nodded once, and they started walking hand in hand, neither afraid of what might happen in five years...

~~Ambrosine Lanee~~

Amber smiled at Isa, holding his hand tightly. As they headed up the path toward the mountain, her smile began to disappear. She knew why Isa was being so cold to her, so that their goodbye wouldn't hurt, but it was going to hurt either way. If he made her mad at him, and they parted ways, that'd be the last thing she remembered about him, and that wasn't what she wanted. Ambrosine sighed, looking at the trail ahead, flipping through memories, what she came up with, was one when Isa came back from his first years training as a samuria:

Amber was 15 now, and a better fighter, but there were still those around town that could beat the crap out of her, and she had gotten herself into trouble with a few of them. Isa wasn't there to save her from the trouble right then, and all her friends were off doing other things. She clenched her fists, and turned around, punching one of them square in the jaw. "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"Shut up half-demon!" The biggest one said, hitting her in the stomach and sending her to the ground. "Isa isn't here to save you. And when he comes back, he won't want to. He'll be a samurai, and you know what that means? That means he'll hate you and all the other demons." He grinned at her, a sadistic grin that told her he'd thoroughly enjoy to see that.

"Y-you're wrong!" Amber said, gasping for the air that had been knocked from her stomach. "Isa would never hate me! He couldn't hate me!! Because...because... I LOVE ISA! And he loves me back! So when he comes back, everything will be just as it was!" She managed to stand up, so angry she was shaking. Isa had made it in town just in time to hear her scream those words. The boy laughed at her, shoving her back to the ground, and started hitting her, his friends joining in. Amber closed her eyes tightly against the pain, bringing her hands over her face.

Suddenly the hitting stopped, and the boys were unconscious on the ground. Ambrosine opened her eyes as someone helped her up, "Isa!" She said in surprise, and before she knew what she was doing, she kissed him. Amber caught herself though, and backed away, slightly embarassed. "You're back!"

"Yes..." Isa said in a cold voice he hadn't had before he had left to start training. "You shouldn't do that anymore Ambrosine... I'm a samurai now, and they're not supposed to be with demons. That's the rule."

This shocked Amber, and she took a step back from him. "But...I..." Her eyes filled with tears and she glared at him. "Since when have you followed the rules, Isa?! You protect me from these boys who say the exact same thing you do!? That we're not supposed to be friends? What happened to me being 'your' Amber? Now we're not allowed to be friends?! You said you wouldn't change Isa! Well you're a LIAR! You're no better than they are! And... I HATE YOU!" Tears were spilling down her cheeks as she whirled around and took off as fast as she could toward the tavern. She stopped once to tell the bartender to let nobody into her room, especially not Isa. Then she ran up to her room, slamming the door and locking it.

Even though it wasn't one of her best memories, Amber couldn't help but bring a small smile back. "Isa... don't ever say we can't be together again." Amber said probably a bit more harsh than she meant it. "It's a stupid rule, I myself don't care for it." She kept her gaze on the trail ahead, her smile turning into a grin.

**Isa Mizashuki**

Isa frowned at Amber's remark, the words bringing back a very different memory.

Isa sat next to Ninako on the roof of a restaurant near the tavern.

"She's pretty mad at you, Isa."

"I know that, Ninako, but my master warned me to stay away from her. He told me I would be watched, and if I warmed to her at all, she would get hurt. I have no say in the matter at all."

Amber walked to her window, Isa scrambling up and over to the other side of the roof. She opened her window, and Ninako waved. When Ninako turned again, Isa was gone...

*~~~~*------*~~~~*

Isa walked down the street, his hat hung low over his eyes. He found the punks who had given Amber trouble from the time they were only children, attacked her relentlessly day after day. As he approached them, he wondered how many times today's scene had transpired while he was gone. He wondered if Amber had ever been hurt badly as he drew his sword. He brought his sword down upon one boy's shoulder, felt it pierce skin, muscle, bone. Isa brought it across another boy's chest, and was sprayed from the blood that burst forth from the boy's heart. The last boy turned and started to run, but Isa threw his sword , watched it make contact with the center of the boy's back. His body hit the ground with a thud, bringing Isa back to reality. Isa saw himself covered in blood, and freaked out. He took off his robe and threw it away from him. He went into shock, and took off running into the forest. Once he was well hidden, he calmed down some, and turned around in time to see Amber and Ninako walking down the street, seeing the entire gruesome scene in whole. Ninako started shaking, and Isa could see that Amber was crying. She walked over to his robe, picked it up, then looked in his direction. "She's smelling me!" Isa said to himself. Her ears perked up, then she started running towards him. "Well, boy, it's only fair to say that you're covered in blood. I was miles away and I could smell you."

Isa turned and saw a man out of his memories. The same man who had saved them so long ago... Isa knew him for what he was right away and drew his sword. The man merely laughed.

"You hardly have what it takes to defeat destiny, boy, let alone what it takes to kill Jarom Cy. But shhh... The girl approaches..."

Isa turned to see the bushes keeping him hidden from Amber shaking. He turned back, but Jarom was gone. Amber came bounding out of the bush, and tackled Isa, punching him in the face as hard as she could.

"WHY?! WHY'D YOU DO IT?!! THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO DIE!!! WHY ISA?!!!"

Isa grinned, his lips puffing up and his left eye starting to swell. Blood was flowing freely from a gash on his right cheek.

"Because... Nobody... Hurts... My... Amber..."

A single tear rolled down Isa's cheek as he spoke the next words.

"Everything I do is for you Amber... If you want to hate me for it, then I hate you too."

Amber sank her head into his chest and began to sob. Isa lowered his head into the ground, and put his hand behind her head. After laying down a while, they sat up, building a fire. Isa went into the forest to grab more wood, and when he came back, found Amber burning his robe.

"Everyone knows it's yours, Isa. They'll come after you if they find it. You can't fight the whole village, Isa."

Isa smiled, and kissed her gently.

"After tonight, this can't happen anymore. We can be friends, but a samurai and a demon can't... They just... Can't..."

Isa hugged Amber, then laid down with her and fell asleep by the fire...

"Don't worry, Amber, I won't..."

OOC: Ok just so this doesn't die away T_T, I'm going to post something.

~~Ambrosine Lanee~~

Ambrosine stopped at the fork in the road and turned to Isa. "This is where we part..." she didn't exactly have a goodbye, nor did she even want to say goodbye. Amber pulled him into a tight hug, "I'll see you in five years, don't forget about me alright? Just remember that if I'm your Amber, then you're MY Isa. Got it?" She let him go and started down the path toward the Wolf Demon village...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(I think I'm going to skip ahead a couple years, not the whole five, but just a few.)
Amber woke up before dawn in a fairly large room, from what she had been told, it was her parents room... She was staying in the house where the leaders of the village lived. Stepping out of bed onto the cold wooden floor, Ambrosine yawned and stretched, swooping her arm down to pick her cloak up off the floor. She put it on and walked out of the room, grabbing her sword that was leaning against the wall. Most of the town was still asleep, only the guards were awake, watching for the kings soldiers that were found wondering around occasionally.
She leaned against the outside of the house, staring at the sleeping town. When she had first come, they had not given her a warm welcome. Guards would follow her around where ever she went, and she had to sleep in a small guarded shack on the floor. Amber had a talk with the village leaders, telling them who her parents were and finally convencing them. After a while she was given her fathers sword to train with and her mothers necklace. To train, they sent Amber on missions that normally one of the leaders would have done themselves. Each time she came back successful, they respected her more. Now she was free to come and go as she pleased, the leaders even told her everything they knew about her mother and father. Amber had achieved what she came for, but she still had two years before the group came back together.
Her right hand gripped her sword and she walked out of the Wolf Demon Village, heading for her next mission she had been given. She was to go to another town and find out more about the kings power and what his soldiers were up too. At mid-day she had entered the town and made her way to the place that would have the most information, the bar. Amber walked up to the bartender and said in a low whisper, "Sir, do you have any valuable information about the king? I will pay you money for it if you want."
Isa's training had become harder daily. He was now learning how to use three swords, finally mastering one, and even two. His master, long healed by Isa's magic sword, had since demanded it be used to mark a grave, which he made Isa dig. The day was soon approaching when one of them would be buried in that grave. Isa's beloved master became more and more harsh with each passing day. Isa had built quite a bit more muscle from all the manual labor his master was forcing him to do. So far, he had moved two dozen boulders to a clearing and formed a circle with them, and dug a hole two feet deep throughout the diameter of the circle, carrying the dirt in large wooden buckets down the mountain and scooping it out again before returning back up the mountain to collect more. He had also been made to collect water in larger buckets and carry it back up without spilling any, and dumping it in the hole. Many times, he would work from the moment the sun rose to the moment it set, then trained with his master. He was given very little to eat, but plenty to drink, getting two square meals in a single day. His master was also making him read scrolls to learn new techniques, as well as ancient magics to trick the enemy's mind. One day, his master told him to go to a nearby village to have an entire week to himself. Isa put on his straw hat, put his three swords in his belt and sprinted down the mountain, stopping at the bottom only to look for the smoke pouring from a settlement he knew he could buy a drink from. He walked into the bar, and at once, every patron fell sient. They had seen this man carry dirt down the mountain many times. They watched in amazement as he would take boulders up the mountain, often at a run. They knew that this man must be a demon. Several of the men stood up to challenge him, only to be ignored completely as he walked past them to the bar. Perhaps he was one of the wolf demons from the village nearby. One man didn't feel like taking the risk. Isa sat down at the bar, where a cloaked figure was whispering to the bartender. Isa tapped two of his knuckles on the bar, and said "Sake!' The bartender stopped talking to the figure, and grabbed a bottle for Isa, sliding it down the bar. Isa caught it, and drained it in one gulp. He tapped his knuckles, signifying he wanted another. The barkeep slid another bottle down, and Isa drank this one slowly. He lowered the brim of his hat, hiding more of his face. The man who wasn't taking chances finally reached the bar, grabbing for Isa's hat. However, he lost his balance, and fell backwards, grabbing the shrouded figure's cloak, and pulling the hood down. Isa choked on his sake when he saw a wolf demon woman with eyes he knew all too well. Isa stood up at the exact moment, and took off his hat. All of the king's loyal subjects noticed too, and rushed towards her. Isa jumped in front of them, drawing one sword and bringing it dangerously close to a man's neck. They all stopped short, wondering how good this swordsman was.
"Anyone moves an inch closer, they're losing a limb. Everyone back away... NOW!!!"
One man apparently didn't think much of the warning as he reached out his hand to grab Amber. In a flash, his hand was on the floor. Everyone slowly backed away, never taking their eyes off Isa. Isa slammed some gold coins on the bar and said plainly, "My friend and I would like a room for the night, sir. We would also like to speak with you in private in half an hour. And," he added, putting more coins on the table, "we hate to cause any trouble in your establishment, so it never happened, got it?"
The bartender looked confused, then nodded, pointing a thumb to the staircase. Isa and Amber made their way up to the second floor, and into the room they had rented. Isa turned and kissed Amber deeply, then tore away. "I'm so glad to see you alive! Have you learned anything?"
"Well isn't that cute?" I asked audibly, stepping over the ralling of the ledge outside that happened to be placed by the window. Escape tools, no doubt, for some bandit or outlaw to escape through the window by dropping onto the ledges below. I took a seat on the bed silently. My new outfit was rather silent and devilishly clever - not a work on my part - but still a good bit. I smiled at the looks they gave me.
"Like the new look?" I asked, standing up and turning. The cloak shifted colors to match my surroundings, but in such a smooth way that it almost seemed to make me invisible. The clothing underneath was black slashed with red in a very coordinated manner - again, not something I had come up with. "Tenny has had quite a bit of free time with me working on my immunities to several things." I nodded to the roof, where the not-so-small girl was holding herself spread eagle between the trusses. "Come on down, I'm sure they know you're here."
-Tenshi-
Dropping down with little noise her self, the not so little girl waved at them and grabbed up an apple on the table. Dressed in similar attire to Jarom’s, her hair had grown down the her waist and was kept in a pony tail. The look on her face was basically what Jarom’s was when the others had first met him, showing no emotion. “Hello Isa Mizashuki and Ambrosine Lanee.” She nodded at both and then tighten her lips saying that she wasn’t going to say much more. Taking a bite she let the others talk while she listened.
"Jarom, Tenshi, it was coincidence I met Amber here. I can't say that you two perching on our balcony is anywhere near coincidence. As for building immunities, well, I'm afraid it won't happen. The silver they use to slay vampires is entirely different than what they use to make jewelry. Only slayers have access to this silver, and super speed or strength won't help you get any. It's direct issue from my master, who's killed every vampire that tries. And all they really have to do is light you on fire and you're done. Those new clothes are pretty, but what tactical advantage do they give you? You're as pale as a sheet. And Tenshi, I think it's time you started training with me. It looks to me like all Jarom did is give you new clothes. Either way, you are intruding. Get out. Now."
Isa pushed them both out of the room, locking the door behind him. He then walked over and closed the door leading to the balcony. He walked back into the room, sitting down at the table and grabbing a pot. Within seconds of grabbing it, steam started to pour from its spout. Isa grabbed a nearby cup, and poured himself some tea.
"What a nuisance that Tenshi is. Ever since Arya died, she's been a different person. I don't like her anymore. Amber, please sit down. How long are you staying? I have a week before I go back up the mountain to train. I'd like to spend it with you."
Orion stood before his T'elathi master, his hand-and-a-half sword drawn. He had learned through many painful lessons that an axe was good mostly for offensive maneuvers, not for defense. He had worked many years on perfecting his sword tecniques under his master, and now stood ready for his final challenge. The two combatants were encircled by a ring of T'elathi students, all from vastly different walks of life. The master made the first move.
Orion blocked the thrust with a quick flick of his sword, and brought it through in an overhand attack. The master sidestepped Orion's attack and swung for his exposed side. The T'elathi's sword connected with emptyness as Orion lept into the air over the attack and his master, and kicked the T'elathi to the ground. Lying flat on his back, the master felt the cold steel of Orion's sword pressing into his neck.
"Yield." said Orion, breathing heavily and smiling just a bit.
"You have beaten me, but why did you not use the secrets of the T'elathi I gave you while I taught you?" replied the master.
"I did what I could to beat you, revered master," stated Orion as he slid his sword back into its scabbard, "but I must admit, I was very tempted to use them when you nearly took my legs off." Orion smiled as he helped his master up to a standing position.
"Orion, I want you to always remember the secrets of T'elathi, for they belong to you now, as you are one of us." The ring of students cheered as the master gave Orion a small pendant hanging on a string, and placed it around his neck.
"This pendant will start to glow when enemies are nearby, use it well, my child." the master then walked out of the ring of students and back to his own dwelling place.
Five days later, Orion emerged from the mountains. He remembered an old tavern he used to visit in his younger days, and decided to find it again.
When he entered the tavern, cloak drawn over his head, all he could notice were the changes in his view of the bar. As soon as he entered, he immediatly look for the nearest exit, spotted potential threats, and loosened his sword so that it would be easy to draw in a flash. He chuckled to himself as he realized his training with the T'elathi was more complete than he thought. He got a drink from the bar, and sat down in a corner table. Shortly after, a strange man in a strawhat entered the bar and ordered sake. Orion tried to remember why that was important. Afer a few moments, a brash young man tried to grab the mans hat off of his head. The man ended up losing his hand. But during the fight, Orion saw for a brief instant the man's face, and immediately recognized him. Orion sat there, speechless as another figure walked up to Isa and both of them went upstairs. The other one had to be Amber. It all made sense. Orion closed his eyes, softly chanted a few words, and immediately knew which room they were staying in. Orion also sensed one, no, two other presences in the same room. One was but a child, or maybe not anymore, and the other one was a... vampire? Orion laughed out loud as he rushed up the stairs to meet his friends once more.
"Well ae'd naos no puckaneta," I said, walking through the door like a ghost. "The tactical advantage of magical clothing, boy, is that it adds to my power. As for your Master's silver." I lifted my left hand and allowed the light to catch on the silver chain coursing down my arm. "Seventy percent of this is that silver. Another two years and it won't matter." I growled lightly because moving my arm still stung a bit. "And don't think nobody has ever set flame to me, I'm older than you think. But I can set fire to them just as easily now. I've got a host of new tricks and so does the little one. But that's not my place. Samurai, Wolf," I nodded in turn. "I go to finish my training at the platform of the gods. Then I'll deal with the King's Army and the traitor." With that I stepped back through the door, again seeming to be nothing more than a ghost as I passed through it.
"Come on, Tenshi," I said quietly. I saw Orion coming up the stairs and lifted a hand to halt him. "Don't go up there. The years have not been kind to their belief in Destiny. So in turn, Destiny shall abandon them in this coming task. We have no right to interfere in what I'm sure you can tell is going to transpire." I continued walking, opening the door and heading outside and away from the tavern. I smiled at Tenshi. "I cannot promise you a place where I am going, but you're welcome to remain here and prove the humans wrong."
I pressed my hands together gently, an odd sensation passing through my body as the clouds parted and the platform came into my sight, forever beyond the sight of mortals. I smiled to myself and turned around, looking at Tenshi. "You can stay with the grumpy Samurai, he thinks you need to learn something from him." And with a bow I ascended up into the sky, the tunnel following after me. Thus ending the hardest thing I'd done since trying to become human again those thousands of years ago.
~~Ambrosine Lanee~~
She smiled at Tenshi and Jarom when they made their appearance in the room. "Hey Squirt!!" Amber said, ruffling Tenshi's hair, but she didn't get upset like she use to, and this made Ambrosine frown. "What? You don't like me anymore?" Isa said a few harsh words to the two before shoving them out the door and making her laugh. "You didn't have to shove them out, they weren't doing any harm." Amber watched him pour himself some tea and her happiness faded. "Tenshi's changed. I liked her better when she was goofy and would make a big scene when I called her names." She sat down in a chair next to Isa and sniffed the air, through the closed door she could smell a warrior. "What's everybody doing here all of a sudden?" A small smirk appeared on her face. "Orion's here as well, by coincidence I'm assuming."
She listened to Isa's question and her gaze moved to the floor. Amber was supposed to be back to the Wolf Demon Village by tomorrow night with information. "I'm just going around collecting information, I wasn't given a deadline." She lied and smiled at him. "So, you asked me a question earlier." Ambrosine got up from the chair and moved over to sit on the side of the bed. "I learned quite a bit actually. Well, you see, after we parted, I trained a bit more by myself before finally going to the village. They were hesitant that I was the daughter of Kaija and Ulric, but I finally convinced them that I was indeed the…half-breed daughter that they hid from the village. The temporary leader let me stay in the village for the time whilst they decided what to do with me. When it came down to it, they wanted me to take my mother’s place and lead the demon village, because they had heard what I had done with the group. They said I would make a good leader because I could make strong decisions, I was just like my mother, and they gave me this.” She held up a necklace that hung around her neck, it was a wolf howling.
"Well, I was told that my mother only made one mistake… And that…that was marrying my human father,” her eyes filled with tears. “So, they told me if I had already fallen in love with a wolf demon, I could marry him. Otherwise, they’d choose who I married. I told them to forget it! If I was going to be the leader, then I could marry who I wanted, wolf demon or not. My mother made no mistake choosing who she wanted to marry, she not only made decisions with her head, but with her heart, and that’s what makes a strong leader. I told them I declined right then and there; I would not have them choose a husband for me. They told me they’d think about it and sent me away for another day. When I was called back in, they said it was fine, and that I was right, a good leader not only uses their head, but their heart. I told them that after I met back up with my group and seriously thought about it, I’d come back with my answer. The village agreed, and let me stay to train there, with my fathers’ sword. The strongest wolf demon in the village even came and trained with me, taught me everything he could during the time I was there. All of the village elders had stories of my parents, I learned quite a bit about them. I figured out that if I were to choose to be the leader, it would mean giving up the life I have, my friends, the town, adventuring… But I’d be in charge of whole village, I’d actually BE somebody.” Her eyes lit up at the thought and she smiled at him. She laid down on the bed, and sighed. "Wouldn't that be great?"
"Idiot vampire. My master has never even given any of the silver to anyone, because he only has one nugget. That one nugget is my sole inheritance, along with master's armor. I recognized Orion's footfalls on the stairs. I'll talk to him in the morning."
Isa walked to the opposite side of the bed and laid down, pulling Amber to him.
"I'm glad you learned something, Amber. Now I have something to tell you. Master always gives me information after he meditates. I've learned that the Thief has set traps for all of us... Even the kid. She's sending knights to destroy your village, and she's holding Ninako's parents hostage. She's using Tenshi to bait Jarom, and you to bait me. She's... Going to destroy OUR village to bait Orion. I don't know when... And one other thing... She's been named a national hero. If we kill her, and the king... We may as well count on sticking together so we won't be picked off one by one. But, tonight, let's not worry about anything."
Isa kissed Amber's cheek before pulling the blankets over them both...
"Hello Orion." She waved. "Master had to take a journy so I am stuck with either you or 'the grumpy Samurai' as master called him." She walks down stairs and orders a tea while sitting down at a table. She looks around very gaurded. She lets out a smile. "Master was stricked he wouldn't let me laugh, smile, or have fun. Up there when Amber called me squirt and rubbed my head I just wanted to cast a spell on her the turn her fur green but I knew better so I guess I'm learning. So what have you been up to?"
~~Ambrosine Lanee~~
It was still pitch black when Amber woke up. She looked over at Isa who was still asleep, and slipped out of bed, putting on her clothes and her cloak. She put her hood over her head and made her way downstairs. There were still a few people in the bar who had no where else to go, and the bartender was half asleep behind the bar. Her friends had all left it had seemed, though she'd see them in two more years, her heart burned to see them all now.
Amber walked out of the bar with the information she had gathered from the bartender and Isa last night and made her way back to the Wolf Demon Village. Her heart dropped into her stomach when she smelt smoke and demon blood. Could that have happened as Isa was talking about it?! She prayed it didn't and ran towards the village.
From behind the gates it sounded as if they were still under attack, but the sun was just rising so that wasn't right. They had just left before she made it there. She grabbed her sword from its sheath and ran into the village. Screams of horror and pain were all around. How could the village have fallen so easily? Bodies of demons and knights lay everywhere. Her parents house was burnt to the ground. Amber fell to her knees, dropping her sword to the ground so she could cover her eyes as she cried...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(I hope this is ok, you can still post before the next two years but I'm skipping ahead)

The group had been away from their town for five days and since then there were more people sent out on the streets or executed for reasons the king would never say. Taxes soared and people were getting desperate, so desperate that there were murders for money and there were more thefts. The people were beginning to miss the seven being around. They were the only ones who knew justice and could set things right. Everyone else was too afraid to go against the king, or had died a horrible death trying.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining brightly and the sky was a clear blue. Although the sun was out the day was cold, it was a late October evening. Smoke from woodstoves could be seen and smelt. Children ran around playing games as their parents tried to call them in for dinner. The town bustled with business and the streets were packed, even at this time of the day. People who were kicked out of their houses walked around asking for food or even a little money. A lot had changed in five years.

A cloaked figure appeared on the hill and stared down at the town. A smile spread across her lips and she lowered her hood. Silver wolf ears could be seen through a woman’s long black hair. She knelt down and sat on top of the hill staring intently at the town. Her name was Ambrosine Lanee, and she was the undeclared leader of seven friends that had departed five years ago...

OOC: Andrea, take your sig off. Actually, everyone should start dropping their sigs on these posts. You're breaking the topic....and making it longer wide than it is tall. It's hard to read.

IC:

"Glad to see you've lost your baby fat." The king sneered, making Diedre bristle silently. "An amazing feat, since my healers assured us you were having twins. Tell me, how are the tots?"

"They are free." Diedre snapped, a light in her dark eyes. "You will never find them."

Enraged, he backhanded the thief, sending her stumbling into Toruya, the young Court Mage. His arms closed around her in an almost possessive manner, and Diedre leaned on the mage as if to draw strength from him. She had met up with her friends shortly after the birth. It had been true that she had tried to steal from Toruya, and he'd caught her. However, during her servitude to him the two had fallen in love. Diedre had been forced to flee for the sake of the babies that she would never know...and then she had been forced to throw the king off of her trail.

"Tell me, Thief." The king taunted. "Do your oldest- your only- friends know why you betrayed them? Did they see you heavy with the children of your forbidden love and know that they were the reason that Toruya could not be with you? That their close friend had fallen for the enemy?" Diedre felt the strong arms around her tighten, and she sighed imperceptively. She could not condemn her children- and Toru's- to servitude. Even if it meant that she herself lost her freedom.

"I will hunt down the Seven for you." The thief said, boldly. "Provided that you never attempt to locate my children."

"Perhaps I will simply hunt them all down- including your children- myself." The king said, imperiously.

"You will lose hundreds of men to their supporters alone, and be no closer to the Seven than you are now." Diedre said, knowing that she had already won. "Toru and I can get closer than your guard ever will. The people will respond better to us than to armed guard. We can pick off the seven, one-by-one, given a bit of time."

"You have six years." The king had made a decision. "One year for each of the other six. No longer."

"Of course, my liege." If he noticed her sarcasm, he didn't acknowledge it.

"You will take three guards with you." He decided. "They will be under your command, dress as you tell them to, and kill only when you tell them to." He didn't say- indeed, he had no need to say it- that the guards would also slay Toru and Diedre both at the first attempt to run.

~*Three Years Later*~

Diedre looked impassively at the face of the vampire and the child before her. Decoys, of course...every one of the "Seven" that she located on this search would be decoys. The king may kill her when he learned the truth, but she and Toru had agreed silently that they didn't care. Without Toru's magic backing him up, the King's hold on Diedre's thoughts was gone. The thief still had her tie with the mage, but the king could not monitor their thoughts.

As the vampire and his apprentice burned, the small party of five rode away silently. The three guards were used to Diedre's silence now...and though they had realized her to be kind, she was also a demanding woman. Even when they weren't killing someone, they were worked hard. The thief gave them no mercy.

...It was sheer accident that they came upon the demon wolf village over the next hill. Diedre stopped in mortification as she watched the three guards exchange glances. Turning desperately to Toruya, she dropped her head when he shook his, sliding her hand into his and allowing herself to take comfort from his presence. One guard rode off beforfe long, and an entire company of knights returned and rode, whooping and shouting, into the village below.

Diedre forced herself to watch, forced her face to remain impassive...even as she prayed that Amber wasn't in the village below. She had spent extra time finding the vampire and his apprentice, making sure that it wasn't Jarom and Tenny. They'd stumbled on this village. There was no way for the woman to tell whether or not her old friend was trapped below.

Sighing, the thief turned away at long last, once her guards had come back to her side. They rode away silently, the guards bowing beneath the weight of Diedre's disapproval and grief.

~*Two Years Later*~

Diedre walked silently through the Seven's old town with Toru. Her cowl was pulled low as she stepped silently into the tavern and sat down, Toru sitting beside her. Jak, Lars, and Vic- their guards- had decided to stay out of the Seven-Friendly town while Diedre and Toru moved in and ate. Some Seven-Friendly towns could smell guards out like hounds on the trail of a fox...even guards as well-travelled and worn down as Jak, Lars, and Vic. They had covered literally the entire kingdom in the five years that they'd been hunting...and they'd found and killed five of six decoys. Isa was the only one left...the only of the Seven that Diedre had yet to fake a death for.

Standing on tip-toes at the bar, two identical little boys stood polishing mugs and glasses, taking orders and even serving drinks when their pa, the old bartender, was busy. Diedre didn't allow her glance to linger on the children, though she couldn't stop her eyes from wandering back to them...and Toru noticed. He followed her glance and looked at her, eyes wide.

The thief ignored his glance, even as the hair on the back of her neck stood up. "One of the Seven is close." She muttered, lifting her mug and taking a slow, long drink as her eyes searched the crowd. "We need to get out of here. If they find me, they'll kill us both."

-Tenshi-

A lady of royal beauty, but dressed like a peasant with a headband and a braid that almost dragged on the floor, came down stairs and smiled at the boys. “Ok guys I got Mrs. Pursy’s room cleaned now go and do the others.” The boys smiled and ran up stairs. Taking up the place behind the counter the almost unrecognizable Tenshi clean up behind the counter and hum a little tune. She had come home a month early just to see how things fared and if there was any thing she could do to help.

A man about six feet tall stepped into the tavern of the pro-Seven town. He was a man not unlike the Thief and Mage sitting at the bar. It was easy to discern that he had been upon the road for some time and was indeed no more than a man who wandered the kingdoms. His beard was cut back but only to the point of long stubble and his skin was worn and tanned from days under the sun. His long hair fell into his face in a cascade of black waves that almost made him look female, yet the hardness of his near-glowing golden eyes spoke of a man simply waiting for someone to attempt a fight.

Sitting himself at a stool at the bar, not far from the pair who seemed to be watching the children, he tossed his worn black cloak behind him, allowing his similarly-worn attire to be shown. He wore no visible weapon - yet again his eyes did enough for any group of armed escorts - and his clothes seemed plain aside from a belt made of polished leather with a few stones in it. Something that may have been stolen by the look of it.

The man gestured the long-haired girl behind the counter and ordered a drink. When it was brought to him, he asked a simple question. "Where do I find Isa of the Wanted Seven?" Several looked up in a unified start as he spoke. He siezed this opportunity to address everyone.

"Why do you all look so startled?" He barked in a smooth, yet cutting-edge tone. "Their deaths are wanted by the King, and he offers good rewards. According to what I hear, only one is living. And that one is the Samurai Isa." He stood quietly, an eerie silence met his movements. "And I, Farious Rouke, will be the one to take him down. He is a disgrace to Samurai everywhere...loving a demon." He spat at the words, then continued on.

"Stinking demons," he snarled guzzling down his drink. "I'm glad yer King's been killin' 'em off like they were some kinda animals. Good riddance." By then the crowd had revived itself and a few of the larger men had come forward.

"Don't you know where you are?"

"Of course I do," he replied. "I'm in a town that harbored my target for some time. Why do you ask? Are you such an imbecile as to not know where you live?" The taunts worked, as they did most every time, and the men drew weapons ranging from broken chair legs to an actual mace. The man only smiled. It was when he smiled that an almost ageless quality became noticeable in his features. Almost as if they had been smoothed out every morning as he woke.

The men were only taken aback by the looks for a second, then started forward. They thought the man defenseless enough, so only one approached.

Ducking under the swinging ball of the mace, the man grabbed a pair of long, wickedly curved daggers from his boots. Daggers that had not been visible before. The first dagger stabbed the man in the opening in his gut. Following the penetration, Farious swung around the brute and slit his throat with his second dagger, only to pull the first free as he kicked the dead corpse aside.

The other men blinked, then came in a pair. Farious flipped away from a swung chair leg, landing on the bar. He quickly kicked a partially broken glass at the oncoming brute who swung his weapon and shattered it foolishly. Glass shards flew into his face as Farious slunk from the bartop like a sidewinding serpent. He gave the first man a good stick to the lungs, climbing upon his back and throwing himself at the other man - who was still clawing at the glass in his face.

The brutes fell with echoing thuds and Farious regarded his victory be flicking the blood from his daggers. He sheathed them quietly and returned to his seat with his final words.

"If any of you sees that Samurai, you tell him that the Hound of Hell is after him. Farious Rouke." Then he sat at the bar and waved the barmaid back over. "You tell him that too." For a moment his whispering voice changed and his eyes shifted color as he blinked. "...Squirt." Then he downed another cup and ordered some food.

"I'll expect you to pay for the things you broke too. We don't like fighitng here, this is a clean bar. The owner won't even let whores in to work here." Setting his food down in front of him she gets eye level and winks. "You best remember that." With that she walks away and just before he goes to scope up some food on his plate the food simmers leaving a message about whats going on and that the spell did not poisen the food. As he gets done eating she walks back over. "Will you want lodging for the night or will you be leaveing?" A warning in her voice to others sounded like you better leave or else but to cirtain others it was a warning that trouble was here and looking.

~Farious Rouke(Jarom Cy)

"I think I'll be staying here a few nights," he chuckles. "And you'll be paid in the knowledge that the trecherous Samurai is dead and the honor that he died in or near your establishment." He smirks at the others in the building, wolfish eyes just daring anyone to step up to him. "I'll pay fer my food and room, but nothing else because it's not my area. Expect yer king to pay fer damages. He hired me after all. But somebody keeps beating me to them. It was a shame when I discovered they'd got my half-brother before I did."

His gaze slips down the bar to the Thief and the Mage, a look simply stating "I know who you are." He returns his gaze to the girl in front of him and smiles. His eyes instantly switch to the two young boys polishing glasses and he beckons them over.

"Say, you boys wouldn't happen to know of a pair of kids who were abandoned anywhere around here, would you?" He smiles in what he takes to be a trustable manner, but slightly scares the children. "I'd be forever grateful if you could point them out to me - if you know of them of course - and the king would grant you whatever you wanted." The boys recoiled and were saved by the maid picking up his empty plate. He smiled and nodded at the boys before paying for another mug of ale and sitting himself more comfortably in an empty booth, tucked in the back of the room yet with a good vantage point against oncoming visitors.

-Tenshi-

Tenny knew the boys history, the owner told her all about it and how he had seen some one drop them off and reconized them. He had also explained that this person was helping out the seven by killing off fakes so they had cover. The bar owner had told her who it was but she still didn't trust her. If she had learned any thing for any body in this life it was to not trust so easy when their word has been broken once. "Boys why don't you go to bed. Its getting to much in here for ya now. Go on now." She shooed them down stairs where she slept with them. She knew how it was to be alone and young. Handing the troubler maker a key she snarls. "Hes your key sir. Hope you enjoy your stay." With that she walks off to take drink orderd from the talbes.

*Isa Mizashuki*

(Before the reunion)

Isa sat up in the bed, Amber only just fallen asleep. He quickly got dressed and ran out of the room, grabbing Orion.

"Orion, we've got work to do. The king's soldiers following Deidre around are gathering knights to destroy Amber's village. We have to rush there. Quickly!"

Isa adjusted the three swords in his belt. The third was a plain, unadorned sword which had been his father's. This was the sword he used least often. The second was the enchanted Devil's Apprentice sword which Isa had received when he resumed his training. He used this sword in his right hand frequently. The first sword was the sword he had found when he went further into the ruin to find Arya, or her remains. He used this sword constantly in his left hand- His dominant hand. This was in itself a valuable weapon, as all of his opponents were right-handed. Isa sprinted through the trees, amazed at how fast his sparring partner had become. They broke the tree line, jumping over a ten foot cliff and landing below. Demon guards posted outside saw them. With a signal to Orion, Isa pulled the cloak over his head, and cleared his throat, motioning Orion to keep quiet.

"We're scouts from the forest... Rouse the warriors. Knights are on their way here to destroy the village."

"I could call your bluff easily, human. Our scouts wear no boots, nor do they wear sandals. The clothing they wear rustles differently when they run, and they SMELL like us. However, I smell no fear or malice, so I will do as you say. Amber has told all of us much about you. Isa Mizashuki, heir to the title Devil's Swordsman, and Orion, warrior of the stars. Indeed, we had all been told to keep a wide berth if we valued our lives. Your information is new?"

"Got it before I came down the mountain."

The wolf demon grabbed a horn from his belt and blew quite hard. No sound escaped the horn, but a harmonious howl of several hundred wolf demons could be heard. Isa drew his three swords in the Juggling Octopus style, which entailed the use of his hands, elbows, knees, and feet. He bounced the hilts of his swords off various body parts and caught them occasionally with his hands for power slices. He heard the clanking armor of the knights, knowing that the wolf demons used dragonfox hide. He charged into the forest, getting into a zone. His senses were fine-tuned. He heard Orion's heavy footfalls behind, saw tiny rays of moonlight glinting off polished armor, felt small movements in the air. When he was within ten paces of the enemy, he started juggling rapidly, never using his hands to grab his sword. When he met his first foe, his fists began flying as fast as his swords. Truthfully, he could have used twelve swords for this technique, but it was very difficult and fatal to the wielder more times than not. Knights fell to this barrage like bottles lined up on a wall for stone throwing contests. He started moving the swords faster, hearing Orion’s axe chopping its way through layers of flesh and bone. He also heard a short sword banging against armor. Isa heard all of this, as well as cries in the village. Isa spring boarded off a nearby tree, and ran into the village.

“Don’t let them take another step!!” Isa shouted to Orion as he raced past.

When Isa ran to the village, he saw the wolf demons were badly outnumbered, but holding their ground. Isa switched to the Hermit Crab style, which entailed using one sword at a time, but changing swords with alternating strokes. He ran through to the village graveyard, where knights were desecrating graves. Isa jumped to defend the fallen warriors’ honor, cutting down every knight he ran past. He leaped onto the top of a large grave marked LANEE, and switched to the Raging Scorpion style, in which he used all three swords; one in each hand, and one in his mouth. He defended this grave with everything he had, knowing it would be a target….

-------

Three hours later, the wolf demon warriors had beaten back the knights. Isa and Orion now stood before the village elders.

“It has been a long time since we last found ourselves indebted to humans. We thank you for warning us in advance, and we extend a warm welcome to you and the rest of the Seven. You may come and go through this village as you please, so long as we live.”

Isa and Orion both bowed, then took their leave.

Later, in the tavern, they shared a drink before Isa ran back up the stairs, shed his clothing, and pretended to be asleep while Amber got up and left. Isa got up shortly after, dressed, and left to meet his master….

-----------

A samurai fully clad in armor stood atop the highest hill outside the village. His helmet was horned and he wore a mask with the face of a demon. Tears welled up in his eyes when he saw his village. He walked slowly down the hill to the tavern. He walked inside and heard the warning given by a foreign warrior.

“If you look for the samurai, look no further. He has returned to kill any and all who trouble this village, and for you, this means death. Your hidden daggers are an unsuitable weapon for you. I’m surprised you don’t use your TEETH.”

Isa walked to the bar, and sat down beside the man.

“Giske, some sake, m’lord.”

Giske smiled and slid the bottle down happily. Isa took off his helmet and mask, perching it sideways on his back.

“Do I hear a baby crying?”

Isa turned and watched the barmaid and the two boys walk down before turning to Jarom.

“You know, your charade is a dangerous one. Lately, Orion has taken to defending the town with everything he has. Listen. There’s something I need to tell you… Sorry for before. Your timing was bad, that’s all. And the two in the corner have called your bluff, that much is certain. I don’t know what’s happened to Tenshi, but I don’t think she’s herself anymore. Her body has been taken over by someone else’s soul… And we need to make Arya transcend to the heavens. Any news from Ninako?”

Isa sipped his sake, no longer needing to concern himself with drinking quickly enough to reach his sword.

~~Ambrosine Lanee~~

Amber stood from her spot on the hill and sprinted towards the tavern, a huge grin on her face. She had smelt her friends there. People gave her strange looks as she blew past them, coming to a skidding stop and regaining her composure at the door of the tavern. She flipped up her hood and walked inside to hear someone from the bar saying he heard a baby crying. Her eyes widened briefly. Ambrosine made her way to the two people at the bar, stopping a young girl taking table orders. She ruffled the girl's hair and looked down at her, "Squirt, has that old man got you doing his dirty work?" The wolf demon didn't stay long enough to hear an answer as she finally reached the bar, stopping behind a man in armor. "You must be going crazy samuria, for I heard no child." Amber sat down on the other side of him and lowered her hood, knowing she was safe here.

"It has been to long my dear friends. I agree never to do that again. I missed you all too much! Now, tell me of your travels and what you've learned. Then, we will discuss business as usual. But this is a night of reunion, I say we enjoy it." She smiled as Giske handed her the usual mug of warm ale. It was the best drink she'd had in five years.

First of all, WAY too many people magically know about what happened with Diedre in that castle. That was a part of backstory to let you guys know as writers what happened...not to tell your characters everything that happened. Second...Curt, I'm really at a loss as to how you managed to save the village when Andrea already stated that it was destroyed. Third...Sam, how exactly could your character know what Diedre made Giske promise at dagger point never to reveal to anyone? As far as anyone but Diedre knows, those kids are Giske's sons. *Breathes slowly* Okay, I'm done screaming. I'll post after my surgery tomorrow.
