Jeez, my teacher kept them, I can hardly remember them. I remember little crates in the "AGYG" one, and vines and stuff in the "ITW" one. ^^

Awww what did yours look like?
Lolita Minako Posted - 12/19/2008 : 9:42:16 PM
I did one for Into the Woods and Annie Get Your Gun Mine were simple, not wood or anything, but they were fun. A pain, because they are TINY, but so much fun!!
Silcris88 Posted - 12/19/2008 : 4:39:26 PM
Is stagecraft hard or what! Such a nightmare to make those little set pieces!!!
Sinthia Posted - 12/19/2008 : 05:52:44 AM
Ahh, Into the Woods is amazing ( I really want her to do it next year), congrats on getting a superior on it, too. Stagecraft can be very hard, or so I've learned (especially on those elaborate pieces) And yes R&H are amazing, though a stickler on that whole copyrights issue.

I did set design for into the woods once. Got a nice superior but couldn't go on to state. Oh and Rogers and Hammerstein Rule!

Aww, thanks. XD

I am a suckers for Rogers and Hammerstein. I competed in a pageant in high school (for Mr. and Miss Deltona High School) and I was a finalist. My talent was a R&H song ("The Gentleman is a Dope" from Allegro)
Sinthia Posted - 12/18/2008 : 5:03:36 PM
Aww, that's to bad, it would have been cool to see them.

Too bad there is no video. They were very against us filming during the competitions. XD We never did a review for that group of shows, either...*sigh* I wish I did, though. Our "Lament" was hilarious. We were abusing each other and pantomiming fans and dancing with each other (because WHO ELSE would dance with Portia and Joy???). It was a blast.

Our "By My Side" was really simple and fluid. But the show was not known for it's abundance of huge numbers. It had a fair share, sure, but that song was simple. Even the melody/harmony was simple. It was all about emotion. We had it perfect...then my voice went poof.
Sinthia Posted - 12/16/2008 : 9:49:30 PM
If you have one that'd be cool. I secondd that notion.
Silcris88 Posted - 12/16/2008 : 9:39:26 PM
You should upload a rendition of you doing it Ms. Minako! That would be awesome :)
Sinthia Posted - 12/16/2008 : 3:26:11 PM
AHHH! Those are amazing songs. Godspell=Love XD
Lolita Minako Posted - 12/16/2008 : 3:15:45 PM
I did "The Stepsisters' Lament" from Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella ^^

The second one that was sabotaged by a cold was "By My Side" from GodSpell
Sinthia Posted - 12/16/2008 : 2:51:05 PM
... That sounds like an awesome pantomime. I can picture you doing something like that Mrs Jamie. What duet did you take to state?

Silcris88: That's right, Mrs Topper. ^^ She's awesome. Mr Topper works at Perkins and brings the little ones into our show (They do such a good job) ^^
Who was your teacher?

Silcris88 Posted - 12/16/2008 : 11:46:21 AM
Wait wait you have a topper in charge of you right Sinthia? Mr or Mrs. Topper? I think!
Awww we'll glad you guys got superiors! I'd be upset too!
Lolita Minako Posted - 12/16/2008 : 06:58:18 AM
"Big Spender" from Sweet Charity? That would be my guess. My school took that a few years back. XD It's fun.

I remember districts (I was District 3). One year, I had a duet piece that was ready to be "Best of," according to everyone we brought in to help. Then I caught a severe chest cold and had no vocal power. We got a "good" and my partner (and "best friend" at the time) gave me hell, lol.

I did have the opportunity to go to States before, though, with a different duet. They actually skipped us at the awards ceremony, and we were brought up later. *rolls eyes* They started saying our troupe number, and we got all excited, because we were the only duet left in our troupe, and then they were like, "Oh, we said that one." We were CRUSHED. Then our teacher, who was LIVID, told us they were just stupid and we had Superiors. XD

I also competed with Pantomime with my sister. ^^ We did a dark mirror sketch...and since we are twins, people liked it. We got an Excellent because we needed a "clearer plot." O.o yeah...girl gets in trance by mirror self, then gets switched...pretty clear, lol.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Good that your school still performs though, and that you are still into theatre. Last year we took Holy South Dakota (Holy Oklahoma at FTC) ^^
Silcris88 Posted - 12/15/2008 : 9:57:00 PM
Oh babe! I graduated but I loooove theatre. My school is Saint Pete High School. If you haven't heard we just lost our drama teacher. Always take a one act though. What did you guys take last year :)?
Sinthia Posted - 12/15/2008 : 9:40:34 PM
Thank you very much!!! ^^ We're taking a one act about 9/12 (day after 9/11), two group musicals (one from Sweet Charity and another call Our Favorite Son), along with monologues, solo musicals, ect. Are you going to districs? What are you taking?
Silcris88 Posted - 12/15/2008 : 9:05:35 PM
Wow you guys are doing such a great job! What are you taking to districts :)?
