Posted - 03/05/2008 : 01:38:44 AM Since I reside in WI for the time being, and all that is talked about all year round here is Packer football and Brett Favre. No matter what time of year it is, they both manage to make it into the news or commercials some how. So, yeah. Whether you've seen it on the news, heard it on the radio or overheard people talking about it while you were out today, you found out Favre retired...I'm referring to here that is. But I'm pretty sure that his retirement has made nationwide news. Wisconsin is going to be in ruins for years to come over this...the people here will make me sad. But I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts they'd like to share with his retirement, since he made a pretty good impact on football. If you get the chance, you should find somewhere where you can here him "Mic'd up" in the game. He's quite the funny person actually. Little something for you people if you don't know him.
-Favre was sitting on the bench and he was looking at the football and he glanced up at the ball boy and he said, "You know, I just don't do so well with this right handed football.... Could you go get me a left handed one?" As soon as he finished the ball boy ran off to look for a left handed football.
I can only imagine what was going through that ball boy's head as he ran off looking for a left handed football. Well I hope to hear from ya. |

Posted - 03/05/2008 : 11:53:08 AM I have huge problem with pro football players, and I'll tell you why. They get paid this ungodly amount of money to run around and slap each other's butts. No lie. I wrote a college essay about this, actually, in which I detailed the components of a football game. By the end of that essay every reader walked away with the knowledge that in a football game, which takes 3-4 hours to televise, in which there is one hours of clocked play time, only 15-2o minutes of that is actually played. The rest of that time is spent on a running clock.
How much money does Brett Farve make a year? For all 18 seasons of his pro football career?
So now he can retire "on his own terms"? Please. Retire, and let your money go to some other hot head that can stick around until he's forty and grace us with is awesomely stupid presence. The BS about him feeling so "mentally tired" just cracks me up. You play football, Brett Farve.
When push comes to shove, football training is more of a sport than the football game itself. :/
So my vote is, retire him and take all that money and put it into hockey, cause that's a sport. XD |
