Posted - 07/19/2006 : 01:56:46 AM Has anyone else read her stories such as Tithe and Valient?
Is anyone else in absolute love with these characters? How about going crazy waiting for the next [and last] book to follow Tithe to come out?
Lol, I was just wanting to know. |

Posted - 07/09/2007 : 02:36:12 AM Oh oh, I read did read the third book, Ironside. I was wondering if anyone else has? Thoughts or comments, yes?
I've been seeing mixed reviews on it... As for myself, I thought it was good. Taking into consideration how she wrote the previous books, she wrote as much into all the elements as expected. I could've used more roamance, hahaa. She did a small crossover of a character in Valiant. Anyway. Go. |

Posted - 04/21/2007 : 3:23:27 PM ;__________________; why do i have to be poor -goes and sells all her possessions to buy it- i didn't know the spiderwick chronicles were by her. but giving up on that faerie world.....i wonder what she'll write abotu after that. i hope she doesn't do what meg cabot does and begin writing cheesy novels for 30-something year old single women >.> |

Posted - 04/20/2007 : 04:55:10 AM I <3 her in every sense of the symbol. She's so different, completely unafraid to take on the cliché and make it her own. To be honest, I read Tithe and was completely hyped up, so when Valiant came out I was actually really disappointed by the blurb. It just sounded like a completely ripoff of Beauty and the Beast, something which other others have done [very badly] millions of times before.
So I wept. xD But I bought it, and read it, and LOVED it. So so much. It's just VAGUELY like Beauty and the beast, in the sense that Beauty fell in love with a troll. God, I loved that ending scene when they were on the swings *.*!
I'm actually glad they're not making Tithe into a film. It'd be too difficult and it would certainly end up ruined. BUT, if it is ever translated to the big screen, I want to see the diner scene. "Kiss my ass". Gah, I swooned.
<3
As an after thought, has anyone read The Spiderwick Chronicles? |

Posted - 01/27/2007 : 7:28:30 PM Another rumor has it that Valiant will be made into a movie? You know, since all books are being made into movies these days, like Blood and Chocolate. Haha.
And I just looked it up and its said that the MTV producers will try and work on it.. and the third book to be set in this world should be available in spring this year. Anyone as excited as meee? Eeee. |

Posted - 01/27/2007 : 12:10:59 PM i loved Tithe more than anything! one of the best books I have ever read....u put faeries in anything and I will read it LoL...but this was def an amazing title. Valiant was good but it lacked the characters that i really cared about. I want the original "cast" to come back in the third.. I have no idea when that will be coming out but I await it impatiently
SOOO good |

Posted - 07/19/2006 : 10:36:07 AM Well, her books can be found in the teenager reading section of probably any book store. She has them as "modern faerie tales".
The first book, Tithe, is about a girl named Kaye who got teased a lot for her "made up" friends as a child, because she says they're real. They turn out to be little faeries and when she returns to them, at sixteen[?], they're caught up in an inner war between the other courts. Also as it would turn out, she's a pixie.
The second one mentioned, Valient, doesn't have any of the same characters in it [till the end] and it about a girl named Valerie [Val] who ends up running off from home into downtown New York and starts living on the streets with three other people her age. During her stay she gets mixed up in the affairs of faerie when she intrudes on an area used by a troll.
Another book is suppose to come out summer of 2007 that is going to continue with the characters in Tithe.
I have just found I like what she writes and I fell in love with her characters. |
