ANGEL LINKS TV 1
synopsis by Jareth David (from J.U.R.A.I.'s Necronomicon 2000 Anime Guide)
Angel Links is in the same universe as Outlaw Star, but in a different galaxy I assume. Probably the Fuan Saabisu Galaxy (j/k, there’s a 2nd rate joke in there, but you’d need at least a 3rd rate knowledge of Japanese phonetics to get it). Actually the entire series revolves around a 16 year old girl’s breasts which must have quite a gravitational pull to draw in the low-attention span male audience. If the show bores you, just try to imagine how Urushihara-san would’ve rendered the main character, that should keep you busy. What is up with Taihei, the cat/bat thing that spends most of its time between Li Mei Fong’s breasts? What a novel idea *cough* Maze… It only jumps out from its cozy lair to attack her enemies on occasion or to morph into the Angel Links version of Grospolinar.
There is a plot somewhere amidst all this, albeit a recycled one. Li Mei Fong was left an intergalactic security company by her grandfather with the condition that they protect the innocent from space pirates for free. Of course this doesn’t set too well with her capitalism-minded competitors. Throw in a kidnapped corporate zillionaire who helps orphans (out of the goodness of his heart, not just for P.R. and free advertising) and you’ve got the basics. Sure there are 3 other characters on board her deathray-equipped ship, but if you’re male, you’ll probably be too distracted to care.
