Sailor Moon TV 44-46
(the original UNCUT finale of the 1st TV series!)
synopsis by Jareth David (from J.U.R.A.I.'s Necronomicon 1998 Anime Guide)
They were born to die!!! The american company that dubbed Sailor Buffoon copped out for the ending of the first series. They changed the story so the girls just lost their memories. In the original japanese episodes, the Failure Senshi died horrible deaths in order to save the world. If you’ve ever hated one of the Sailors, this is your chance to see them get what they deserve. Sorry if this offends the members of P.E.R.S.P.I.R.E. – (Protect Every Rotten Sailor Perhaps Including Rei Even), if you have a complaint about this synopsis, find me at the con and tell me in person otherwise I’ll know to stop showing episodes of this overrated series.
(NOTE: I wrote this review as a joke to see if anyone actually read our synopses. I figured if I had screaming mobs of people chasing me down at the con, I’d know that all my years of writing was worthwhile. I actually own the entire first 2 series [and half of S] on import laserdisc. That’s how much I ‘dislike’ this series : )
Sailor Moon S TV
synopsis by Jareth David (from J.U.R.A.I.'s Necronomicon 1998 Anime Guide)
This was always my favorite of the Sailor series. A new enemy is searching for 3 talismans in the hearts of the pure that will lead to an item which can assist in world domination. Unfortunately, Rei is their 1st target and all of her friends are powerless against their new stronger enemy. Enter 2 new sailors which may not be allies. One is Sailor Neptune, the other is Sailor Uranus (though because of the latter’s androgynous appearance, we refer to her as either ‘Sailor Man’ or Sailor…well, let’s just say it rhymes with Venus…). Ever notice that (like Giant Robo & Jojo’s 20 hour recaps of previous storyline) if you don’t count the heavily recycled transformation and power-up sequences, only half of a given episode is actually NEW animation?
Sailor Moon SS Movie
synopsis by Jareth David (from J.U.R.A.I.'s Necronomicon 1998 Anime Guide)
Children all over the world are disappearing in the midst of night. Where are the Sailor Senshi? Actually, they’re making sweets to win over their valentines. Makoto recollects her mother’s stories of the ‘San-Ji No Yousei’ (3 O’clock Fairy). But while she’s reminiscing, the lovely Rei is quick to point out: "Demo taisetsu na no wa omoide yori mirai no shiawase yo!". (Okay, so I am a bit pro-Rei, it’s probably just because Scorpios are ruled by Mars…yeah, sure, that’s it). Chibiusa mentions her mom’s aptitude for making ‘specially burnt cookies’ setting
