Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne TV
synopsis by Jareth David (from J.U.R.A.I.'s Necronomicon 1999 Anime Guide)
Yet another ‘I’m a thief, but I’m doing it for the good of mankind’ majoko series. But this time she isn’t returning the objects to their rightful owners (Kaitou St. Tail). Instead, it’s the works of art that are possessed by evil spirits which then take over the living. Maron Kusakabe is the reincarnation of Joan of Arc (though she’s no Milla Jovovich or even Lelee Sobieski for that matter) who transforms into Kaitou Jeanne when she gets her assignments from a fairy named Fin (who nobody else can see). Her neighbor Miyako, a policeman’s daughter with a fetish for rules, falls for a cute new guy whose idea of breaking the ice is making comments about Maron’s panties. In addition to inadvertently capturing the heart of Miyako and annoying her friend, he seems to be on to Maron’s secret. Cute character designs and opening theme like most sugar-coated anime.
